A Woman With Courage Beyond Her Time
A woman of great bravery, strength, and most importantly, ambition took off into the world to realize her dreams.
This happened during the decade of the 80s when she joined her nursing program. In those times, nursing was more of a service to mankind rather than a career option as it is perceived today. From a humble village background, she traveled to distant places for her education, after which she rendered services in other states as per her profession.
She served the poor people as a committed nurse and also as a wanderer. Nothing could stop her from earning accolades and praise from every place she served from.
When God Places Your Soulmate Before You
And it was on this trip that she encountered her soulmate.
How strange it is for God to put the perfect one straight in your path sometimes, but it still takes bravery to follow what your heart tells you. She possessed that kind of bravery. She communicated to her parents about her decision and entered into marriage with confidence. She was sure of whom she wished to marry. That handsome young man ended up being her lifelong companion. Though he left this world much sooner than anyone had anticipated.
God probably loved him too much to keep him down here any longer.
When Life Suddenly Changes
Imagine the scenario of a young lady who is married and has two kids, aged 9 and 2, respectively. Then suddenly, everything in life comes crashing down, and the burden of survival becomes your sole responsibility. However, she refused to give up.
She moved to the Middle East in search of employment as a nurse since the need for nurses was very high there. She put in many efforts without her beloved husband by her side to ensure her kids never lacked anything in their lives.
She moved ahead.
A Mother Who Lived for Her Children
She made sure that her children attended the best schools available. Her dreams for them were quite explicit. She would never allow anyone to see her sadness. She kept on mourning silently while living for her children. There was no thought whatsoever about remarrying in her mind. That is how selflessly a mother lived who had devoted herself completely to the well-being of her children’s future. She toiled hard so that they might complete their education after their graduation and stopped working after her son persuaded her to do so. Above everything else, she wished to see her children settled in life.
Silent Pain, Endless Faith
Yet, that was not how life would turn out for her.
Her daughter’s marriage didn’t last very long, making her heart broken all over again. But she did not complain. She never spoke ill of anyone. She kept her pain inside and still trusted in the Almighty. She was happy for her children’s success but always concerned for their marital bliss. Like any other mother, she wanted only the best for her children. But maybe God had something else in mind.
The Day Everything Changed Again
One day, she was snatched away from her offspring. The offspring were shocked as they knew they had been orphaned. Today, her daughter suffers greatly because she knows that her mother has not had the chance to see her second son-in-law, who is indeed an excellent person, or hold her amazing grandchild.
This is life.
We are forever under the mercy of God.
At times, I wish for the time when my mother would hug my daughter. However, no, life does not provide me with such luxury.
