My Life Is a Testimony to the Existence of a Living God, Jesus

My Life Is a Testimony to the Existence of a Living God, Jesus

“The Lord has done this for me… In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.”Luke 1:25 (NIV)

There was a time when someone gave me what they believed was practical advice.

“Sansu, I think it’s time you come to terms with the fact that you may never have a child. Enough of the treatments and running around. Some people are blessed with children, and some are not.”

Perhaps it was a simple suggestion from their perspective.

But for the person listening, it was devastating.

Those words echoed in my mind for days. They weren’t spoken with bad intentions, but they pierced my heart.

At 44, after years of infertility treatments, multiple miscarriages, and countless hospital visits, it would have been easy to believe them.

But I couldn’t.

I Chose Prayer Over Giving Up

Every day, I continued praying.

My prayer wasn’t complicated.

“Jesus, I need a baby. My husband and I have done everything we possibly can. We’ve gone through years of treatments, and we’re only getting older. Please intervene.”

People saw my age.

People saw my medical reports.

People saw statistics.

But I believed Jesus saw something more.

One day, a person filled with deep faith told me,

“Sansu, you will be blessed with a baby girl.”

I held on to those words.

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

Throughout those difficult years, I often reminded myself of 1 Corinthians 10:13. There were days when the burden felt unbearable, yet this verse assured me that God is faithful and would never allow me to face more than He would also give me the strength to endure.

Human Limitations Are Not God’s Limitations

There was another statement I will never forget.

“With all the fibroids she has, she’ll never carry a baby. Her uterus isn’t good enough to hold one.”

Those words broke me.

I remember sitting quietly in a corner of my house.

Sleepless nights became normal.

Deep sighs filled the silence.

Tears rolled down my cheeks when no one was watching.

I looked up and asked God,

“Should I give up?”

But Jesus had a different plan.

While people were looking at my medical condition, He was quietly preparing my miracle.

This was a uterus that had undergone four major surgeries.

A uterus that had witnessed multiple miscarriages.

A uterus many believed could never carry a child.

Yet what seemed impossible to people was never impossible for God.

At the age of 44, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.

Faith Doesn’t Mean There Are No Moments of Doubt

People often think faith means never questioning God.

That wasn’t my experience.

There were days I asked Him,

“Will I ever become a mother?”

I even prayed,

“Lord, increase my faith.”

At the same time, I continued my medical treatment.

I didn’t want to look back one day wondering if I had failed to do everything I could.

Faith and effort walked together.

My husband and I always dreamed of having a daughter.

God knew that desire long before we spoke it aloud.

There was even a time when I applied to adopt a child.

I was ready to become a mother in whatever way God allowed.

But He already had His own plan.

When His timing arrived, He blessed us with our daughter.

Interestingly, because of my age, my adoption application eventually expired.

Looking back, I can only smile.

God already knew what was coming.

The Journey Wasn’t Without Challenges

Pregnancy wasn’t easy.

One of the hardest parts was not having my mother beside me.

Every pregnant woman longs for her mother’s presence.

I wasn’t fortunate enough to have mine.

But I never felt alone.

I truly believe Mother Mary walked beside me, interceding for me throughout my pregnancy.

There were frightening moments.

The baby’s heartbeat wasn’t where we wanted it to be initially.

Gradually, it improved.

Then came another setback.

Minor bleeding.

Complete bed rest.

The doctor advised me to stop working immediately.

Once again, fear tried to replace faith.

Once again, Jesus carried us through.

Throughout that journey, one person never left my side.

My husband.

When uncertainty surrounded us, he stood beside me like a strong pillar, giving me the strength I needed each day.

In between, several housemaids came and went, each bringing their own set of challenges. What once felt like unnecessary struggles, I now see as God’s way of preparing me. Looking back, they were pruning seasons, shaping me for the greater calling of becoming a mother.

Bed Rest Was My Greatest Sacrifice

If you know me, you know I love being active.

I enjoy exploring places, meeting people, and staying busy.

Being told to remain in bed for months felt like someone had taken away a part of who I was.

But motherhood demanded sacrifice before my baby was even born.

Looking back, I see those months differently.

They were preparing me.

They taught me patience.

They taught me surrender.

They taught me that love often requires sacrifice.

Perhaps God was gently preparing me for motherhood.

My Greatest Testimony

Today, when I look at my daughter, I don’t simply see a child.

I see years of unanswered questions becoming answered prayers.

I see hope surviving disappointment.

I see faith surviving doubt.

Most importantly, I see the faithfulness of God.

My life is not proof that every prayer is answered exactly the way we want.

But it is proof that God is alive, that His timing is different from ours, and that His plans are often greater than anything we could imagine.

Looking back, I understand why every closed door, every tear, every surgery, every miscarriage, every prayer, and every moment of waiting was part of a much bigger story.

A story that only God could write.

Thank You, Jesus, for making my life a testimony to Your love, Your mercy, and Your faithfulness.
