Simply Sansu Is My Long Cherished Dream
The dream of having an initiative of my own was a long-lost dream that I left along the way. The journey of life forced me to give up many dreams, and one among them was to be an entrepreneur.
1. What pushed me into entrepreneurship?
It was my maternity leave that pushed me into entrepreneurship or Simply Sansu. I strongly believe it was God’s plan for me. He had a plan for me, and at the right time, He just pushed me into this.
While I was on maternity leave, there was this deep pain from not working and a worry about the possible break I might be taking. I had always worked for companies or agencies, and I was always shadowed behind their face. It was then that I thought, why not start something of my own, a new venture where I could give my face to all my hard work? I was juxtaposed between a deep desire to work and a deep desire for motherhood. Obviously, motherhood had the edge, and I took the break.
I have always been this shy kid who would always get lost in a million doubting questions, which made me shy away from my dreams. On all such occasions, it was God who forced me to pursue my dreams.
2. It was my teacher who first saw the leader in me
The leader in me was first seen while in college, during my graduation. For some reason, I was asked to lead a team. This, in fact, instilled a lot of confidence in an otherwise withdrawn character. The appreciation that I got later made me more convinced.
During my master’s, my professor commented that one day I would reach great heights. However, until now, I haven’t, but one day I will, by the grace of God.
While working as a Team Lead, I think I proved a point that there is a natural leader in me. I realized that I loved leading a team.
3. The type of leader I am
I’m this mix of a soft and strict leader who wants to understand the person inside every employee.
When it comes to work, if a person is honest and sincere, then every other thing will fall into place. I totally understand that a person has a personal life too. So, when it comes to their personal space and time, it is something they deserve.
I believe every employee needs time to rewind and be at their maximum productivity. I don’t believe in treating them as robots or machines.
I believe in a five-day work week, though there has been a six-day discussion for quite some time. I don’t want to be that greedy leader.
4. Who became a reason for today?
It’s my friends who asked me to give up jobs that lacked exposure and instead were confined to my village. They had immense faith in me. They just wanted me to move out of our town, move to a city, and try my luck out there.
I gave up everything I had built until then as a vice principal and started from scratch.
It was not easy because I wanted to try something new that had a future. I researched and found that SEO was something to look forward to. I did a course and started from scratch.
There were many who thought that I was making a mistake. But I finally came to do something that I really love.
Until then, it was a search for a job that I really loved and, at the same time, allowed me to find time for myself.
I loved being a teacher, but I understood that being a teacher is a divine calling, and it was not my cup of tea. I couldn’t simply find time for myself, and teaching is a complete sacrifice.
I decided to find a new career.
Today, I enjoy what I do, and I know I’m good at it. I have proven it with awards.
5. Thankful to God
I’m not sure how far I may reach, but I am confident that the God who has always led me through the wilderness would find green pastures for me.
I will find the fruit of my labor and make my God, my spouse, my child, my brother, and my friends proud one day.
