The Man Who Sold His Wife

He Sold His Wife for Rs. 50,000 Because He Was “Tired” of Her… Wow!

As always, I was scouring through the newspaper, which is never short of sensation on any single day.
But some news leaves such a deep sigh that you feel so much pain for the victim. You finish reading the newspaper, fold it back, and keep it on the table. Yet the pain stays with you. It lingers. Who is the victim? It’s strange, yet it aches.

It is the 27th of May; the front page of the newspaper says a woman was sold by her husband for Rs. 50,000.

What the hell? I mean, the guy who is expected to put his own life on the line to protect his life partner himself put her in danger.

And she was raped continuously for 10 days. Where is mercy?

What is that husband’s heart made of? I don’t think it is flesh and blood, maybe rocks and yes, bones.

The reason is more surprising than the actual crime. This wretch was tired of her and disliked her. He wanted to bring another woman home. So true, “all seems fair in love,” no matter if you were married for 12 years, yet you haven’t found a reason to respect your life partner, or at least another human being.

I wonder what the second woman is expecting from this guy.
A man who couldn’t respect his wife, married to him for 12 years, treats her as a commodity. Does the second one have a guarantee of better treatment at the hands of this wretch?

Respect humans as humans.

Though we may not have the same opinion about the issues that we face in life, even if we have different desires, let us still behave with dignity in all aspects of life. Be human in your behavior as a man, woman, daughter, son, parent, and citizen.

You may not excel, but at least try to treat the other human being with SOME respect.

Relationships without respect lose their humanity.

Whereas “Being Tired of Marriage” Makes Little Sense

Even more disturbing was the realization that they had been married for 12 years. 12 years means building your entire life together. By that time, one would expect the couple to become inseparable, and there should be no aspect left of the marriage that still needs separation. She is his, and he is hers. And that’s why when I heard the man stating that he was ‘tired’ of their marriage, my mind refused to accept it. Why did they manage to survive in the marriage for so long?

Such Crimes Require Stringent Action

It is necessary that stringent punishment should also be provided for these kinds of criminal activities. The act of aiding in a crime, followed by an act of such cruelty and barbarism, should be dealt with rigorously. Otherwise, such acts are likely to take place again. None should dare to commit acts like these under any circumstances whatsoever.
